the snake also shed while he was living in our house...jaden thought the skin was the coolest thing ever

we took jaden and his friend to the park to set the snake free

fort adventures

When it rains for days on end, playing inside gets creative.  We decided it might be fun to build a fort and spend the day playing in it.  It was fun!

balsamic tilapia

I've been trying to incorporate more fish into our diet.  So, tonight I found a marinade that sounded yummy.  It turned out pretty good.

4 fish fillets-I used tilapia, but any white fish could be used

For the glaze:
3 TB balsamic vinegar
3 TB soy sauce
3 TB honey
2 TB olive oil
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp black pepper

The method:
Place the four fillets in a ziploc bag.
Mix everything together and pour it over the fish.
Marinate for at least 20 minutes.
Place fish in a greased 13 by 9 dish.
Pour the remaining marinade over the fish and bake at 350 for 25 minutes.

rainy days

It's nice and quiet this morning.  The hubby's getting ready for work and both boys are still sleeping.  I love rainy mornings!

Some things I'm looking forward to today:
*bible study later this morning
*puddle jumping with jaden =)
*cuddling with Eli....he's kind of been stuffy, so he wants to cuddle more right now (which is fine by me!)
*trying a new recipe for dinner...should be interesting.  my sister's coming into town tonight and she's going to have dinner with us!
*drinking my cup of tea in peace
